Easily Satisfied

Due to the stupid rain recently, we have not been going out that often.

By going out - I mean playing endless fetch game - and not short walks or car ride to the supermarket.

If we are stuck at home, I would demand HC to play fetch in the small confined space at home for at least 1.5 - 2 hrs.

HC said she is glad that she only has 1 dog (she means ME) that is demanding.

Her other dog - Jack is easily satisfied with a treat and 'rough' play with like 10 mins every night.

(HC : Jack used to play very rough with marks and scratches on me 8 years ago. But now, he has learnt to be more gentle in his games)

Then, he started to "play bite" HC's fingers.





























I think Jack uses HC's fingers to sleep like how a baby uses his pacifiers!

He is just so sickening! How can he be so easily satisfied with life??

OMG.... what kind of animal is that??

OMG!!!
Have you seen such a huge animal bone?

It's knuckle is bigger than my head!!!!

But it sure taste delicious!

This bone belongs to Scuba. He is kind enough to let all his friends taste it (for a while, anyway). It is so huge that I couldn't even grab it with my paws. So HC had to hold on to it while I nibble at the corners.

Mmmmm... I wonder if the bone is still with Scuba? Think I have another chance to nibble again??

This is more like it!

After that miserable post about rising food costs , I had happier news.

HC felt bad after looking at the photo of Jack and his paw-sized cake, and Scuba's mum keep "pestering" her to celebrate Jack's birthday proper.

So, she took a chance - went to a dog bakery at the last moment - and managed to get a cake for Jack.

Even though the cake is girly - pink, Jack didn't mind it at all. And surprise, surprise - Scuba's mum bake a huge lamb pattie.

He received presents from Helios and Huskee.

After he tore it open, Scuba and Helios decided to claim the presents as theirs.

Rising Food Costs

I have been hearing so much about rising food costs around the world.

And now we are experiencing it!

After 8 long years with HC, his birthday cake has reduced to the size of his paw!!! How unfair!!

(HC : ahem.... I think Joey is more worried that there isn't enough for him).

Jack decided to try to lick and see if it's poisonous! (one wouldn't know for sure if their human decided to kill them over rising food costs!)



















The picture doesn't shows it - but do you know this paw-sized cake is actually stolen from another dog with the name "B"!!!!!! How cheap!

Rude Guest

Jack is a rude guest at Scuba's place.

He will make himself very very comfortable - such as rolling around the carpet while making grunting sounds like a pig.

If Scuba's bed is empty (Scuba usually sleeps on it all the time, unless he's begging for food), Jack will help himself on it.

Firstly, he'll roll and dig around the bed.

I tried to whisper in Jack's ear that it is very rude to mess up some dog's bed.















He told me, "Go away and leave me alone!"
















And he promptly make himself comfortable.

I'm a good boy .... and a little prince

I am bored out of my mind! It has been raining so often, and once - we were about to step out of the house when it started raining. It was so frustrating to get excited when HC put on our collars and leash, only to have it removed without even stepping out of the house.

Obviously, Jack - a homebody has no problems staying at home. After all, he is alot more active when he's at home. At least he is burning off energy and calories with his chewing activity. (calories??? oh no.. I am starting to sound like HC)

I decided to join him in chewing. This is my favourite chew bone cos I can easily chew off the corners and eat it!














HC : Joey likes to eat this dental bone, which I strongly discouraged cos he will barf it out later at night (or even a few days later) cos it is not digestible. So I usually watch him closely when he chews this bone. But he is a good boy cos he will spit the bits onto my palm when I asked him to.

Joey : ... HC praised me for being a good boy!
See the tiny bits that HC asked me to spit out? She said these will upset my tummy at night.



















And since there is no park activity recently, the humans have taken a fancy to this little fat cute prince!

How To Get A New Toy

What do you do when you know your human has your favourite (NEW) toy kept in a 'secret' box that is too high for your reach?

I've tried hinting subtlely for months by sitting and staring at the secret box but HC either pretend she didn't see or point towards my toy box and said, "you still have lots of toys there!"

Thus I decided that to get a new toy, I had to 'throw' away an old one.

Then I remembered my bunny -

Was too rough with bunny and dismembered it. But HC managed to revive it by amputating 1 leg. It is still in the toy box and not thrown away.



















So I knew I had to act drastically in order to get one of my toy thrown away.

Sorry but I had to sacrifice you....















It was such a mess that HC didn't know where or how to revive it. So, I had my wish come true...

Ta-da... my new favourite ball!














HC : This is one of Joey's favourite toy. I think it is Apple #4 now. I even wrote to the retailer last year asking for availability, but unfortunately they didn't have it anymore. Luckily one of my friend knew I was looking for this and gave her last stock to me.
















To make up to Jack who has very few toys - HC gave this yellow loofah-like thingy to him. Is HC trying to tell Jack to scrub his teeth?















I loved it so much that I had to sleep with it.















Now....which other toy can I sacrifice?

Freezing Nights

Tommy and I have met and we are getting along fine - we totally forgotten about the argument!

It has been a boring week - since it has been raining 'puppies and dogs'. (Jack objected to the word 'cat' in this household).

So no playing in the park, no balls, no nothing....

Except due to the rain, it was really nice to snuggle in bed at night, except for the stupid camera.

Will ya just quit taking pictures, woman!

The woman then turned her attention to grouchy, evil-eyed Jack.
















Can't the weather be more co-operative by having sunny days and only start raining late at night?

Are we still friends?

Tommy and I are long-time friends. We meet each other almost every day and loves to play tug together. If he is in the park with me, HC noticed that I am more energetic than usual (note : we usually ignore each other at park though) and continues to play fetch non-stop. HC said that this display of energy is a sign of 'show-off' to Tommy.

Like I said, we played well together. Sometimes, Tommy will teased and tried to entice me to play by his unique poking (Tommy is nick-named - Woody Woodpecker). If he irritates me too much, I would show my displeasure by nipping him, but he will still be very good-natured about it.

However, we had an argument last night.

I was sitting beside HC watching T.V. at Scuba's place. Tommy walked in from the main door and happily ran towards me trying to initiate play. Something in me snapped! I growled and nipped at him and Tommy growled back. Immediately,there was some growling and scuffle and it took HC and Tommy's owner some shouting before the commotion ceased.

After that, we were separated to different areas, and I didn't get to see him after that.

So ..... will we still be friends again?

HC : Tommy and Joey are very alike in terms of their playfulness and activity level. They also like the same type of toys. For the last few years, both were able to compromise - more from Tommy actually, as I can tell he really likes Joey and gives in to him most times. However, I think Joey nipped him a little too hard last night and Tommy couldn't take it. But I am sure they'll be friends again as dogs are alot more forgiving than human beings.

Sentosa

It has been raining non-stop today, but luckily, we I had a fantastic time at Sentosa early in the morning before the rain starts. (HC : Only Joey enjoys himself at Sentosa. Jack will sit and sulk until I said "Let's go home". )

Bad Duck!

Recently, HC bought some bad duck! And I mean bad bad bad duck.

Look at this!

The one on the left looks "normal", while the one on the right is obviously bad!

HC bought three packets of duck breast from this mega supermarket (so they're supposed to have fresh meat, right?). Immediately upon reaching home, she separated them into 6 packets and freeze them. The next day, she decided to take out 2 packs to thaw for us, and was horrified to saw that half of them had turned to a dull-greenish/brown color. So she threw away those bad-looking ones but fed us a little of those that look "normal".

Of course, I - the one with iron stomach had no problem, but Jack had minor diarrhoea.

In the end, HC threw away the whole lot as she doesn't want us to be sick or rather, to clean up wet poo poo. She also wrote to the supermarket to complain about the bad meat. In the end, the supermarket "accept full responsibility for the deficiences in quality assurance check on supplier's product and have taken steps to ensure that supplier undertakes the required quality assurance check training....".

They offered a refund but HC didn't have any receipts nor even know how much she paid.

(HC : ya... I am very bad with remembering the price of things I buy, perhaps sub-consciously trying not to know how much I spent on these two dogs!)

HC hopes that the supermarket will indeed improve on their quality - cos that's the only place she knows that has boneless duck breasts.

It's a Dog's Life

Just yesterday, we received another vitamins package that HC ordered.















Half of the items are for us - CoQ10 (from Life Extension and Country Life) and flax/fish oil (from Twinlab).

HC said that we take more supplements than she does, but this time round, she got something for herself - two of them were supplements that should allow her to sleep better.

I think she should be reincarnated as a dog - we could sleep almost immediately all day, and have no problems waking up too!

Happy Holidays

Happy New Year to all dloggers!

We had a quiet, but relaxing and fun Chinese New Year holidays.

Instead of visiting family and friends like what other dogs do with their humans, we had fun visiting the dog run, taking long walks and going to the beach.
