Mooncake

ok, I know mooncake festival has come and gone....

This is a belated picture of our own doggie mooncake!

The ingredients are "dog friendly" - none of the sweetened white lotus paste that humans had. And the best part - it comes with lamb/chicken!

I hope we have this again next year.

My 7th Birthday

It's my birthday.. and HC would have forgotten all about it if not for a reminder by Auntie V :(

So, HC cancelled her appointment at night in order to spend some time with me.

She said she bought me a 'cake' from Delifrance.

Ermmm... is that a cake? or leftover 2-day old pastry from the fridge?
It was hard as a rock and as tiny as my little paw. Worse is, I had only 2/3 of it, as Jack had to eat some too.
There are NO PRESENTS this year, and NO CELEBRATION (WITH REAL CAKES AND COOKIES) with my friends!!!!! What's happening??????
HC explained that I had presents (i.e. new toys) every other week or so, so it is not important to have any present on my birthday. Most importantly, the person I love (which is HC - according to her *roll eyes*) spend the day evening with me, right?
Oh well, I did have fun in the park with HC..... sigh...
(HC : I used to really look forward to celebrating birthdays with my dogs - but somehow not this year. I guess it is because having birthdays mean that they are reaching their old age. it is the same with my own birthday too... hahahha... I have stopped counting the birthdays since my early 20s..
I was thinking back when Joey came into my family home when he's a mere 3 months old puppy. He's mischievous, naughty, hyperactive.... I remembered the damage he did - chewing off part of the wall, chewing the legs of tables and chairs, dragging Jack's bed across the hall with Jack STILL SLEEPING on it, stealing human's socks and lingerie and ran around the house happily, eating my mum's high blood pressure pills...
I am so glad that he has passed his naughty phase. After 7 years, he has become a very good companion, and the bond between us is indescribable... I knew exactly what he is thinking/plotting even before he act it out. I am so glad that he is still very active and healthy at 7 years of age... and I hope to have many many more years with him, and of course with Jack)

Xmas wish

My Xmas wish this year is to have my very own pet.

It has to be smaller than me, and easy to carry around.

But, HC said not yet cos she thinks I wouldn't be a responsible owner.

I bet to differ though, I can clean up pee/poo (HC : more likely Joey will either eat or roll over them), give my pet plenty of exercise (HC : more likely chasing and scaring the little animal) and most importantly I am gentle with little animals.

Here's the proof:

I can easily fall asleep and not crash my pet to death.

I let my pet climb all over my head and pinch my ear.

He can crawl all over me.

And sit on my head.

So I think I am ready for a pet now!

Talking about Xmas - I didn't join the DWB's Xmas Card Xchange cos HC said she is too busy to help me. But I am pleasantly surprised to receive 3 cards!

From Hammer and his family, Sundae and GirlGirl

And you know how many cards HC receive?

That's right - Nothing!

teeheehee

'Tis the season

.... to be "Dogta-Claws", an amusing delight to the humans.

Huh?

This way beta?

With a wink?

okayyyy... I look FAT in this picture!

Miserable Jack

He is so miserable and bored that he almost fell asleep.

Sigh....

Sigh Sigh

So, do we get to open our presents NOWWWWWW????

It's my 6th birthday...

and Tommy's 5th!

Well, my birthday was 2 days before Tommy's and the humans have always celebrated our birthdays together. They claimed it is more fun this way, but I bet it's because they wanted to save costs by having us SHARE a cake :(

CELEBRATION - DAY 1 (4th August 2007)
On the eve of my birthday (4th August), HC went to a dog bakery and bought some cookies for the goody bags for our friends. She saw a nice pink (pink!!)cake, and decided to get it for us.

HC said it is safer to get Tommy to pose with the cake first cos I might ate the cake up while posing.

A serious looking Tommy celebrating his 5th birthday.

The handsome birthday boys
Since it was an impromptu early celebration, Herbie and Helios couldn't join our group picture.

Since I am the older birthday boy, I get to have the first bite. Sorry, I was trying to stuff myself with as much cake as possible that HC couldn't get a good shot. But can you see how much I have eaten? (HC : Joey ate about 1/4 of the cake within seconds... yes.. he is amazing in a greedy way!)

Then it was Tommy's turn to have a go at the cake. Silly Tommy was so unsure that the humans have to keep 'persuading' him to eat it.

CELEBRATION DAY 2 - 5th August 2007
On my actual birthday, the humans decided to bring us to our (Tommy and mine) favorite place - the beach!
After much swimming and retrieving, we are presented with a cake (with compliments from Auntie V).
The green on the cake represented 'grass', and quail eggs - 'balls'!
As per previous reason, Tommy posed with the cake first.
Then it was my turn.

And without fail, I started to eat the cake without waiting for it to be cut.

After the 2 days of celebration, I finally get to open my presents.
Of course I had to take a picture with my presents.

The next day, a nice card was delivered to my home. It was from Girl Girl!

Thank you for all the presents and cards!

7th Anniversary cum Birthday - 16/04/07

On 16th April 2000, Jack was brought home by HC. Thus, last Monday, we celebrated Jack's 7th "Stray-Free" Anniversary cum birthday at our usual park. Due to the rainy season, some of our friends like Sugar and Chili weren't around, but we had a rare guest - Ice.

While waiting for the rest of our friends, Jack decided to guard his food.

Finally after much waiting, the birthday boy was given the honour of biting into the cake first. (Cake complimentary from Auntie V. Auntie S also made a delicious chicken pie, but in our hurry to eat, we forgot to take pic.)

Demonic Jack and his cake.

More demonic pictures..

After having the food, it is time for "the birds and the bees" lesson.

Actually, Ice spotted it first. Once he saw it, he maintained the same pointing posture throughout the event.

For those who are unaware, Ice is a Britanny, and they are known for their excellent pointing skills.

Close up on what the frogs were doing.. naughty naughty!

Jack received a few presents and a card from our favorite hamsterrier - Fu Fu.

See, he even know how to draw a portrait of Jack

We forgot to take a picture of the rest of the presents, except for these as they are given by a special someone - Huskee! (Jack has a crush on Huskee!)

See how he enjoys chewing Huskee's presents?

I reckoned that since he received 2 bones, Huskee must have wanted me to have 1.
So I stole the green one.

After awhile, I decided that the blue one looks interesting as well.

Me eyeing at Jack with his blue chew, the green one forgotten.

Waiting for a chance to take the blue chew.

Hiak Hiak Hiak.. the bone is now MINE!

HC tried to take away the blue chew as she said I cannot be so greedy.

Since I refused to give up my blue chew, HC took out another present to reward Jack - Dingo Bone! And of course I HAD to take it away from Jack as rawhide is no good for him :)

Hc gave up and decided to keep all the bones away from us.

Me venting my frustration at the wrapping instead!

Happy New Year

Happy New Year everyone!

To celebrate the New Year, HC opened a miniature bottle of wine and shared it with us.

Fortunately for me, Jack disliked the smell and turned his face away from the wine. So I drank it all on my own.

Yummy!

And......I think I know what Jack's new year resolution is.

He hopes to be more tolerant towards humans.

Proof? Jack was bullied by his No.1 fan. and didn't even react to it.

Hiak hiak hiak

Celebrating Xmas

HC said she had an 'obligation' to celebrate X'mas Eve without us. To make up for not being with us, she gave us an early X'mas present.

My singing Santa who goes, "Ho Ho Ho ... Merry Xmas..." and then start singing "Santa is coming to town". I loved it!

Since it's X'mas, I let Jack play with it for a while.

Jack chewing the Santa. I hope he don't kill it.

Jack hugging Santa to sleep.

When HC came back from her 'obligatory' party, she smelled very familiar. Jack and I sniffed her all over, and I decided to check on her camera to see the 'evidence'.

Why is Tommy's picture in her camera?

And what is that pork rib doing in front of Tommy? Does that mean she went to a party when there's other dogs around? I thought dogs are not ALLOWED???

HC quickly distracted my attention by placing all our presents together on the floor.

Unwrapped...

HC especially like this present as it is the one-and-only bowl in the world.

Thank you everyone for the wonder presents!
