R.I.P

Remember my neighbour - Sparker?

Well, he died a few hours ago! (no, he is not killed by Jack!)

HC was sick today - gastric and vomitted and decided not to bring us to the park. To satisfy my ball fetish, she brought us downstairs to play.

When we reached there, HC was surprised to see Sparker lying motionlessly in his cage (his cage is placed at the back of his house). She went to our human neighbour to enquire and the owners sadly said that Sparker had just passed away. They suspect he was bitten by the snakes.

As usual, the owners had let Sparker roam around the estate during the day. In the early evening, the female owner let Sparker into the house, and was surprised to see him vomitting, panting and his tongue was almost blue. Accordingly to her, she asked Sparker, "What's wrong with you? are you dying soon?". Sparker then wagged his tail and smiled at her. Then, he went to her husband's bed (husband was working) and seems to be searching for him. After a while, Sparker left the house and went to lay inside his cage. That's when he finally passes away.

The owners were crying when they told HC what happened. In the end, they called SPCA to take his dead body away.

HC words:
I was sad to see Sparker gone, as he had started to really warm up to me. Whenever I drove back home, he will be waiting for me to park my car. Immediately when I opened my car door, he will pop his head in asking for a pat. He was quite sweet to me (and my dogs)

As for Joey, he seems to have no feelings being near to a dead dog. In fact, that little fellow was quite disrespectful as he continues to play with his ball near to Sparker's dead body. He even gives out happy barks when I threw the ball for him to fetch.

Jack seems to know Sparker's gone. He went near to his cage, and when he turned away, his body language and face tells me he was sad. When I squatted down to Jack's level, he walked towards me and give me a few sad kisses.

I have always wanted to take a picture of Sparker to blog about him. But I always tell myself, "perhaps one day I will bring my camera". Little did I know that the only picture of him is of his dead body.

If you can't bear to look, please turn away. (there is no blood though)

What a shame! Why didn't she rush him to the vet?

Oh.. that's so sad. Hope Sparker is in doggie heaven now. Joey, there's snakes at your estate? You and Jack better be careful when you're out of your house...

I don't know why they didn't rush him to the vet. And HC didn't feel it was right for her to question, cos he already passes on when she saw him. If she had come home earlier, she probably could have save his life.
Anyway, Sparker was well loved in his 8 years of life, and I can tell he enjoys his life of free roaming. (even though HC feels it wasn't safe for him)

I was looking forward to seeing Sparker and now he is gone. RIP Sparker.

He is not the first dog I heard that was bitten by snakes. Poor chap.

I am said to hear this news.. Poor Sparker..
I know a few friend bitten by snake. So we better watch out. I don't want to see this incident happen to any of our friend again... Rest in peace, Sparker..

Oh! That's a sad news! The owner should have sent sparker to the vet immediately when sparker turned blue! well, i'll remind mama to watch out if i have the symptoms like sparker prior to his dead. sometime i vomit but still i'll be happy to fetch ball and play with the hooman so it is pretty difficult to detect if i'm alright or not.

wet wet licks

Oh my.. that's terrible news. I was just happily reading your post the other day about him and I cannot believe he'd gone to doggy heaven.
Hopefully he is now happily exploring the fields in doggy heaven where there are no snakes..

RIP Sparker. :/ It was sad reading this. My neighbour found a snake in her house and Mommy has been paranoid ever since.

Poor Sparker :(

Sigh.... I feel really bad for Sparker. His owners should be asshamed of themselves for letting their big dog roam around, and it was them who got him killed in my opinion.

poor sparker. i guess we cant really judge on that. i have a neighbour who lets his dog roam about. but i observed that the dog obviously enjoyed roaming around and it always barked at the maids to let her out and when it returns home, she will bark to get the gate to be opened.

My neighbour said the dog has been doing that for the past ten years.
